Qurbani
Qurbani — the sacrifice offered at Eid al-Adha — in Africa, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen and Arakan.
Qurbani is the animal sacrifice Muslims offer at Eid al-Adha, with the meat shared among people in need. Acting on your behalf, we perform your qurbani according to Islamic rules and deliver the meat to the families in greatest need.
During Eid al-Adha and throughout the year we perform vow (nadhr), aqiqah (the sacrifice made for a newborn) and thanksgiving sacrifices on behalf of donors. The donor's name is read out before the sacrifice, which is recorded on video.
The meat is distributed the same day to families identified in advance by our field team.
